DEAD as a DODO
3. 7. 2020 — 17. 1. 2021

Throughout Earth’s long history, there have been repeated periods when a particularly large number of species went extinct. While natural disasters were often the cause back then, today it is increasingly humans! As a result, it is estimated that approximately 130 animal and plant species go extinct every day.
This special exhibition explores the extinction of animal species caused by humans—from the earliest times to the present day. It features impressive life-size models of extinct animals such as the giant moa and Steller’s sea cow, as well as currently endangered species like the polar bear, orangutan, and rhinoceros. Visitors learn about the challenge of human-caused species extinction—an adventure with potential solutions.
