iNUVERSUMM - Space and Time for Insects

30. 10. 2025 — 16. 8. 2026

The special exhibition iNUVERSUMM – Space and Time for Insects invites visitors to discover the fascinating world of insects—from their anatomy to their development from egg to adult. What can we do to preserve their diversity? Even small changes can make a big difference. At the Senckenberg Nature Lab, science comes to life: here, insects can be observed up close, explored, and understood in a playful way.

The artist
Sabine Emmerich

Science and art come together in this exhibition in a unique way.

iNUVERSUMM – Space and Time for Insects combines scientific insights with an artistic perspective, opening up new ways of engaging with the world of insects.
Sculptor Sabine Emmerich makes a central contribution. Her works offer an aesthetic approach to the dramatic loss of species and complement the scientific perspective with a sensory and reflective dimension.
In her installations, Sabine Emmerich explores the fragility, beauty, and adaptability of insects. Through deliberate magnification and the interplay of light and shadow, she brings these often-overlooked creatures into focus and draws attention to processes of transformation as well as the hidden forces of life.
