Would you like to celebrate a very special children’s birthday party? Here at the SENCKENBERG Natural History Museum in Dresden, you can choose from a variety of nature-themed options. Depending on the children’s ages and the size of the group, we offer a fun-filled birthday program.

Birthday workshops
Fossils can tell us stories about times long past. They come in many shapes and sizes—learn to read and understand them just like scientists do. We’ll take a journey through Earth’s history and explore the fossil treasures in our collection. You’ll also get to become paleontologists yourselves and take a fossil home in a treasure chest you’ve designed.
Age: 6–12 years old
Participants: 10 children + 2 adults
Duration: 1.5–2 hours

The workshop takes place at the Senckenberg NatureLAB in the Japanese Palace. Accompanying adults are responsible for supervising the children. Younger siblings must be supervised by their parents. No separate room is available.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to eat cake or similar items during the Fossil Birthday Party. We ask for your understanding and would like to ask you to enjoy the birthday feast before or after the workshop at home or in the Palais Café. You are welcome to bring water to drink during the event. Please refrain from bringing sugary drinks. We thank you for your consideration.
